Germany's Biggest 'China Town' to be Built in Berlin

The "Ku`damm" street is located in the busiest area of downtown Berlin, capital of Germany. In the furthest western tip of the street appeared many Chinese shops and restaurants before people got aware of them. Then an air of Chinese culture gathered in the street, which became thicker when a grand Germany edition of "Shaolin Temple" was set up.

Deller Lehner, who has been working hard on running the temple, revealed a more ambiguous plan-to build a "China Town" on the Ku damm street on the basis of current shops and restaurants.

Deller, a German who developed a strong interest in Chinese culture, came alone to the "Shaolin Temple" in the Songshan Mountain in central China's Henan Province some years ago to learn martial arts and Buddhism. After that he built up a "Shaolin Temple" in his country and invited Shaolin monks to teach martial arts and Buddhism. He is also planning opening a large clinic featured Chinese traditional medicine near the temple.

Deller's father, a famous Germany entrepreneur, also likes Chinese culture and fully supports his son's "China Town" planing. China's long-standing culture and philosophy have great vitality and the 21st century is China's century, he says.

Deller's planning and organizing work is going on in good order. We already have everything, except for Chinese people who are willing to do business here, he says. Due to the economic depression and other reasons, there are still many cheap shop fronts waiting for rent. Deller and his Chinese-side manager Ding Ding are talking with some Chinese entrepreneurs, hoping them to invest in Germany and locate their companies on Ku damm street. Some have showed interest and Deller expects the "China Town" would be basically completed within two years, which then will be the biggest of its kind in Germany.
