Shaolin masters to train tourists in Hong Kong Jul 17, 03 in Shaolin Temple News
For the first time in Hong Kong, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will organise two International Shaolin Martial Art Training Camps specially intended for overseas tourists.
The residential camps will be held at the YMCA Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village from August 11 to 15 and from August 18 to 22.
The camps belong to a series of Shaolin Wu Gong activities organised by the LCSD, the Hong Kong Culture Association and the Songshan Shaolin Temple, as part of the Government's Relaunch Hong Kong campaign.
"Shaolin monks will conduct intensive wugong training for participants and share with them the rich history and philosophy of Shaolin during conversation sessions," a spokesman for the LCSD said.
"English-speaking interpreters will be on hand," he added.
Overseas tourists aged 12 or above are welcome to take part in this stimulating programme. Each camp will accommodate 100 participants. The fee is US$120 (HK$900) per person.
