Songshan Shaolin Disciples Visit Celestial Pictures

It is understood by many that the origination of the art of Chinese Kung Fu traces back to the Songshan Shaolin Temple. A few days ago, Celestial Pictures was honored to invite the Songshan Shaolin Temple Disciples - currently visiting Hong Kong promoting "Authentic Shaolin Kung Fu", for a special screening of the classic Shaw Brothers Shaolin movie masterpiece -The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin, which was directed by the acclaimed martial-arts director Lau Kar Leung and starred Gordon Liu Chia-hui.

On 16th August, 2003, Celestial Pictures' Ms Shirley Chung, General Manager Corporate Affairs and Mr Gordon Liu Chia-hui were delighted to welcome special guests: the Songshan Shaolin Temple Disciples, Mr Lee Kwok-Keung from the Hong Kong Culture Association Ltd. and Mr Anthony Wan MBE and Ms Gin Chiu from the Hong Kong Wushu Union, for an open forum between the representatives of the Songshan Shaolin Temple and the motion picture and martial-arts communities of Hong Kong. A spectacular demonstration of martial-arts from the Songshan Shaolin kung fu masters was performed.

This open forum with the Songshan Shaolin Temple was the first of its kind organized by the Hong Kong motion picture industry. In hosting this event, Celestial Pictures not only enjoyed the presence of their esteemed guests, but also attained a deeper understanding and clearer insight into authentic Songshan Shaolin kung fu. Hopefully, the outcome will be for Celestial Pictures to produce even more scintillating Shaolin movies in the coming future.
