Freedom for all beings

The Shaolin Temple Monks set hundreds of birds free this morning due to honor the Guan Shi Yin Pu Sa¡¯s, day of enlightment.

Shaolin Si¡¯s 78 years old honorary Abbot Shi Yin Song organized everything. In his speech he said:

..¡±Ordinary people usually eat meat, of all kinds and they think that it is quite proper. Eating meet is like committing a crime; it is like you take a life. Nowadays even some monks eat meat with no regret at all. Our ancestors cry for this, I do the same and I pray for their salvation. We, Shaolin monks do not eat meat and we must persuade everyone to stop killing. We must live by the Great teachings of our Ancestors and by the Wisdom of our Lord Buddha.

I wish that all human beings understands that war, hate and crime is the worst evil of all. Please let¡¯s look the birds flying free towards the sky. They fly to the freedom, let¡¯s all of us do the same¡±..
