Nov 15 2003. The Shaolin Buddhist assembly of the five-direction Buddha last Day!!!

The Shaolin Buddhist assembly of the five-direction Buddha, lasts 49 days and more than 5000 monks attended it. This was the largest assembly in Shaolin Temple's history and also in the history of Chinese Buddhism.

Abbott Shiyongxin invite 49 senior monks including 35 monks from the 4 famous Buddhist mountains and Taiwan, 3 from Thailand, 3 from Tibet, 8 from Japan and south Korea. Each of the monks successively directed the assembly for one day. The assembly was the first and the largest international culture exchange in Chinese Buddhism.
